LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE

A manual specialized technique performed by a certified lymphatic therapist to stimulate the flow of lymph. The basic principle of this work is to facilitate the lymph to move smoothly and efficiently throughout the lymphatic system. The pressure of this technique is lighter touch performed in a wave-like movement to help move the lymph in rhythm with the body. The ultimate feeling after treatment differs for each person, but some people experience, lightness or heaviness in the body, increase or decrease in energy and an increase need to urinate.

A person who has been diagnosed with Lymphedema where a mechanical insufficiently resulted due to damaged or removed lymph nodes, benefits from the lymphatic drainage. Manual lymphatic drainage therapy redirects the lymph fluid so it does not collect in the area of insufficient, compromised nodes thereby moving the stagnant lymph fluid through other functioning pathways of the lymph system.
